Villa
La Cotogna

Originally the birthplace of 20th century Italian businesswoman Luisa Spagnoli, La Cotogna was named after the unique and fragrant fruit, the quince.

Like the fruit, this villa is rich with cultural undertones. No house was complete without a quince tree, it being a symbol of wealth, fertility and abundance. It is synonymous of rural life, just like Villa Cotogna, an Umbrian farmhouse with original architecture. A stay in this villa is a step back in time, when life was simple and uncontaminated. Thoughtful renovation choices were made to keep the original materials and style of the centuries-old building while introducing the comfort and amenities that today’s travelers have come to expect. Our aim was to transform the natural environment into a one-of-a-kind landscape, among the most beautiful in the world.

The master suite is located in the guesthouse, a centuries-old converted stone barn. The large modern bed beautifully placed in the middle of the room makes admiring the view of the lake all the more enjoyable. There is an elegant en suite bathroom with double wash basins, marble countertop and a bathtub. On the ground floor of the main house, a side entrance leads to a modern, open plan kitchen with a rustic dining area. Adjacent to this is an inviting living room, the perfect space to unwind and watch a film on the large flat screen TV. This floor also has a stylish bathroom and an elegant double bedroom. There are three more bedrooms on the upper floor, accessible through the external staircase. Two of them are double bedrooms that share a modern bathroom with double wash basins and hydromassage shower. The third bedroom comes with two French-size beds and en suite bathroom with shower. All the bedrooms open onto a cozy living space with a beautiful working fireplace and a majestic antique mirror. Villa la Cotogna also features a home spa with a sauna and sensorial shower: an ideal oasis to relax either on a chilly day or after a tiring day of sightseeing in the summer. An absolute plus is the stylish pool covering a length of ten meters and from which guests can take in the dramatic views through the quaint rolling hills all the way to the lake.
